TRG: Week 12 Recap

Sorry about the delay in posting the recap this week. In fact, it's going to be a double-post today of the recap and week 13 picks. Despite going 0/3 on the Turkey Day Parlay, the streak continues with another 4-2 week of picks, making it the sixth consecutive winning week.
I was stunned by Kansas City last week. They fought the Steelers hard and the defense stepped it up. The Chiefs defense hasn't been consistent, but they showed some potential on Monday. Aside from that, most of the picks went smoothly. Just missed the Bears covering by 1 point, and to me that has to be a concern for Chicago. I know Oakland is playing better this year, but the Bears need to be able to win games on the ground and with their defense... Backup QB Caleb Hanie didn't inspire much hope for the passing game.
Anyway, here's the rest of last week's recap:

LOSSES

New QB Carson Palmer and the Raiders are getting it done lately.
Pittsburgh -10 over KC: Great effort by the Chiefs and not a good day for the Steelers offense. Games like these make me concerned about how long they'll last in the playoffs (assuming they make them).

Chicago +4 over Oakland: Despite holding Oakland to 6 field goals for most of the game, the Bears couldn't get any offense going. Hanie is going to need to perform a lot better than that if the Bears hope to make the playoffs. Oakland continues to get by, but they've got another tough matchup this week against the rejuvenated Dolphins.

WINS

Atlanta -9.5 over Minnesota: This one kept you on the edge of your seat right up to the end. Percy Harvin nearly returned a kick for a TD, pushed out just short of the goal line. The Vikings were stuffed over the next four downs, and the final score of 24-14 was preserved. The Falcons offense continues to leave a lot to be desired, but they managed to cover this one.

Who needs defense? The Pats are rolling.
Denver +6 over San Diego: I think I'd set the over/under on Chargers coach Norv Turner being fired at 2 weeks. San Diego looks hopeless. Denver is playing scrappy football with a suddenly dominant defense, but Von Miller is questionable this week after having thumb surgery.

Carolina -4 over Indy: And the Indianapolis cash cow pays off another week. I assure you, I'll be picking against them again this week. Carolina's defense continues to be a liability and I wouldn't trust them against many other opponents.

NE/Philly over 50: The Eagles jumping out to an early 13-0 lead was the best thing that could have happened for this over. The Patriots turned it on in the second half and made it an easy one. Philadelphia is in complete disarray at this point, and the Seahawks delivered the deathblow to their season on Thursday night. I guess it makes all of the McCoy-Sanders comparisons that much more ironic.
