Seneca Wallace Re-Signs With the Browns
The Cleveland Browns and quarterback Seneca Wallace reached three-year contract extension on Thursday night, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Browns president Mike Holmgren acquired Wallace last off-season from the Seattle Seahawks, where Holmgren drafted Wallace in the fourth-round of the 2003 NFL Draft.
Wallace started four of eight games for the Browns last season, completing 63-of-101 pass attempts for 694 yards with 4 touchdowns and two interceptions. The Browns were 1-3 in Wallace's starts, but an ankle injury opened the door for 2010 third-round pick Colt McCoy to claim the team's starting job.
Wallace was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, but is well-versed in the West Coast Offense new head coach Pat Shurmur brings from St. Louis and should be a solid back-up to McCoy in 2011.
