New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas has signed a four-year extension, reports Brian Allee-Walsh of NewOrleans.com.
Financial terms of the deal, which was confirmed by head coach Sean Payton, were not disclosed.
Signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois in 2007, Thomas has rushed for 1,939 yards and 18 touchdowns and caught 118 passes for 938 yards and six touchdowns in 47 games over the last four seasons.
After leading the Saints in rushing during the Super Bowl-winning season of 2009, ankle injuries limited Thomas to just 269 yards in six games in 2010.
