Jerry Jones expects Felix Jones to play despite not practicing all week

Felix Jones didn’t practice all week and is listed as questionable for Saturday’s Cowboys game because of his tight hamstring.

Despite that, Jerry Jones expects his starting running back to be out there. Perhaps because he doesn’t want to imagine a world where Sammy Morris started in a game that mattered for Dallas.

(Then again, maybe the game won’t matter by the time it starts. That would be a reason to sit Jones.)

“It would surprise me if Felix does not go,” Jerry Jones said Friday morning on 105.3 FM via the Dallas Morning News. “That would surprise me. On the other hand, it would be madness not to recognize he hasn’t practiced this week, so you better have another plan in place.”

Dallas signed Chauncey Washington to the active roster on Friday, which is a sign they aren’t sure about Jones’ status. Or his ability to make it through the game if he’s able to play.

Also questionable for the Cowboys: Cornerback Mike Jenkins (shoulder), receiver Kevin Ogletree (knee), nose tackle Jay Ratliff (ribs), receiver Laurent Robinson (shoulder), linebacker DeMarcus Ware (neck stinger) and backup safety Danny McCray (ankle).

Felix Jones appears to be the shakiest bet to play of the group above. Despite Jerry Jones’ confidence.
