McGahee limited, could miss Thursday’s game

With Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno out for the season with a torn ACL, the Broncos also may not have their starting tailback when the Jets come to town on Thursday night.
McGahee practiced on a limited basis on Tuesday with a hamstring injury that knocked him out of Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.  Per Lindsay H. Jones of the Denver Post, McGahee participated in warm-ups and stretching, but he was not involved in the individual drills that occurred during the portion of practice that was open to the media.
If McGahee can’t play, Lance Ball will get plenty of opportunities.  Against the Chiefs, 30 of the 55 rushing attempts went to Ball, who gained 96 yards.
The other tailback on the active roster is Jeremiah Johnson.  “The good thing about Jeremiah is he’s been with us,” coach John Fox said Tuesday, in comments distributed by the team.  “Albeit on the practice squad, he knows our terminology.  He’s helped make our run defense better.  He’s shown a lot as a service squad guy.  He deserves the opportunity and he’s done well.”
The Broncos have done well with their run-based T-Bone offense.  It’s unknown whether that will continue against the Jets.
But pick against the Broncos at your own risk.  It seems like whenever they are counted out, they become even more determined to find a way to win.
