Texans WR Andre Johnson Undergoes Procedure On Hamstring

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson will miss at least two weeks after undergoing a medical procedure on his right hamstring, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The perennial Pro Bowler suffered the non-contact injury during the second quarter of the Texans' 17-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Originally feared to be a knee injury, the Texans announced in the second half that the injury was to the hamstring. Even after multiple MRIs, the severity of the injury was not determined on Monday.

According to McClain, the procedure Johnson underwent today involved the prevention of scar tissue near the small tear in Johnson's hamstring, which will reportedly help speed up the healing process.

The Texans will not get much relief from their schedule, which has six games to go before their bye week. The reported timetable will keep Johnson out for games against the Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens, and potentially threaten his availability for a Week 7 game against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville.

Johnson leads the Texans with 25 receptions for 352 yards and has two touchdowns in 3+ games this season.
