Tom Coughlin doesn’t care what Plaxico has to say

Tom Coughlin doesn’t care one bit what Plaxico Burress has to say about the New York Giants.

The new wide receiver for the New York Jets took some pointed shots at his former team in a Men’s Journal article, making his visit to the Giants in free agency and the nice things he had to say then come across as, well, quite phony.

Burress said quarterback Eli Manning lacks thick skin and said Coughlin is “not a real positive coach.”

“I'm really not all that concerned," Coughlin said today, according to the New York Daily News. "I'm sure it was lots of grandiose statements. I don't know anything about that, but I'm really not interested in that, either.”

Coughlin disputes the idea the visit with Burress was about closure.

"Closure? I don't know what that word means," he said. "We were trying to decide whether and to what extent we were going to be able to make an offer. It wasn't about closure. It was about business. It was about going forward."
