Singletary to Vikings 'looks good'

It appears Mike Singletary is close to joining the Vikings coaching staff. A league source said it "looks good" that Singletary will become linebackers coach on Leslie Frazier's staff.
NFL.com also reported Sunday night that the Vikings are expected to reach a deal with the former San Francisco 49ers coach. The Carolina Panthers also are reportedly interested in hiring Singletary as linebackers coach.
Singletary's decision to join Frazier's staff would not be surprising. The two were roommates as rookies with the Chicago Bears in 1981 and have remained close friends.
With Singletary in charge of linebackers, Fred Pagac is expected to remain as defensive coordinator. He took over that role when Frazier was elevated to interim head coach.
