Tim Tebow set for first NFL start

Tim Tebow is about to become the Denver Broncos’ starting quarterback.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Denver plans to give Tebow his first NFL start Sunday at Oakland.

The news comes as no surprise, as Kyle Orton is struggling with a rib injury and didn’t throw in practice this week.

Tebow was the pet project of Josh McDaniels, who was fired before ever starting Tebow for a game. Now Tebow gets to show his stuff and make a case — to whoever coaches the Broncos next year — that he deserves to be the starter in 2011.
