Redskins get to 53, keep four quarterbacks

With question of whether Robert Griffin III has been cleared clearly unclear and Kirk Cousins dealing with a sprained foot, the Redskins have decided — for now — to keep four quarterbacks on the roster.
The Redskins have reduced to 53 players, and both Pat White and Rex Grossman have survived.
It doesn’t mean they’ll be on the roster for Week One, or even by tomorrow.  It only means that, as of right now, they both have jobs.
Those who don’t have jobs with the Redskins include the players who have been waived:  defensive lineman Chigbo Anunoby, receiver Dezmon Briscoe (waived-injured), linebacker Marvin Burdette, linebacker Will Compton, running back Tristan Davis (who had been on the exempt/left squad list), receiver Skye Dawson, safety DeJon Gomes, defensive end Dominique Hamilton, running back Jawan Jamison, receiver Lance Lewis, center Kevin Matthews, cornerback Chase Minnifield, tackle Xavier Nixon, tight end Emmanuel Ogbuehi, linebacker Vic So’oto, offensive lineman Tevita Stevens, and receiver Nick Williams.
Gomes had been a fifth-round pick in 2011.  Jamison was a seventh-round selection in 2013.
The Redskins also terminated three vested veterans:  defensive tackle Ron Brace, tackle Tony Pashos, and running back Keiland Williams (with an injury settlement).
