Redskins Sign LB Keyaron Fox
The Washington Redskins have signed inside linebacker Keyaron Fox, Chris Russell of ESPN-980 AM reports.
A third-round pick out of Georgia Tech by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2004, Fox has 167 tackles, one quarterback sack and one interception in 85 games during his seven-year career, the last three spent with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
73 of his 167 tackles have come on special teams, with Fox being named captain of the Steelers' special teams the last two seasons.
Fox adds depth behind starting inside linebackers London Fletcher and Rocky McIntosh, and it shouldn't take the veteran long to acclimate to the Redskins' system. Fox played for linebackers coach Lou Spanos in Pittsburgh in 2008-09.
