Lorenzo Neal arrested for DUI

Former NFL fullback Lorenzo Neal, a 16-year pro and four-time Pro Bowler, spent the Fourth of July drinking.  But also driving.  And eventually crashing his truck into a pole.  And getting arrested for DUI.
KFSN-TV in Fresno, California reports that Neal tested above the legal limit of 0.08 percent following the one-vehicle accident.
“[He] just ran off the road, struck a pole,” CHP Officer Axel Reyes told KFSN.  “Nothing real major about it.  Luckily, he didn’t hit anyone and no one else was with him as a passenger.”
Neal was released on the scene to the custody of a friend, and he was not taken to jail.
Neal played for the Saints, Jets, Buccaneers, Titans, Bengals, Chargers, and Ravens.

Neal is the Chief Information Officer of Safe Rides Solutions, a professional driver service and DUI prevention program operated by law enforcement professionals.  “Through his years as a professional athlete, Lorenzo has experienced and seen many things off the field that are of great concern for his colleagues,” the company’s website states.  “Lorenzo feels drinking and driving is a major problem and effects [sic] people from all walks of life and all segments of society.”
