PHI - Expected to pursue WR Plaxico Burress

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to pursue free-agent WR Plaxico Burress (Giants) once free agency begins. Head coach Andy Reid has been impressed with Burress' ability to beat press coverage and is also impressed with his size.

Michael Vick went from prison to the starting lineup for the Eagles, and could help Burress make a similar transition. We think Burress could help Philadelphia as their third receiver behind DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. It may take him some time to get back into football shape after being out of the game for two years, but could at least help the team as a red zone threat because of his size and leaping ability.
