Redskins Agree to Terms With S O.J. Atogwe

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Washington Redskins have agreed to terms with free agent safety O.J. Atogwe.

Those terms were not disclosed, though ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Atogwe has agreed to a five-year deal.

Per a league source, Atogwe's deal with the Redskins is worth $26 million over the five seasons.

A third-round pick out of Stanford by the Rams in 2005, Atogwe has started 75 of 88 games in his six-year NFL career, totaling 390 tackles, 5 quarterback sacks, and 22 interceptions.

Signed to a five-year, $32 million contract last June, Atogwe was released on February in advance of an $8 million roster bonus that was due on February 21, which is when Atogwe met with the Redskins.

The 29-year old free safety played for Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett in St. Louis from 2006-08.
