Not Time For Indianapolis to Panic

Now that the NFLPA has decertified, owners have locked the players out, and the players have filed a lawsuit against the league, one might think that the 2012 Super Bowl Committee in Indianapolis is panicking.

Not so, reports Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star.

"My takeaway from the last couple of days is, first we read the manuscript and now we're watching the movie," Super Bowl committee chairman Marc Miles said. "Nothing that's happened has been particularly surprising, and I don't see anything changing any time soon. At this point, it's not really impactful from the committee's point of view."

Kravitz notes that an unofficial agreement between the NFL and Indianapolis is that in the unlikely, worst-case scenario that the 2011 NFL season is canceled, with the Super Bowl nixed along with it, the city of Indianapolis would host the 2015 Super Bowl.
