Cowboys Players Meet in Advance of Lockout

A group of Dallas Cowboys players met on Wednesday to discuss off-season plans in the event of a lockout, Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News reports.

"I think as you come closer down to crunch time everyone's got questions and is trying to figure out exactly what is going on," Cowboys offensive tackle Sam Young, a sixth-round pick in 2010, said. "Anytime you have uncertainty, I believe, you're going to have some anxiety. Guys are getting more prepared. You hope cooler heads prevail. But you never know."

Teams have been instructed by the NFL to not meet with players at this time, which will hurt first-year head coaches and teams with first-year coordinators on either side of the ball.

Despite the uncertain labor situation, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett has created an off-season schedule including OTAs and mini-camps.

"I believe we’re going to play football next year, regardless of what the labor situation is leading up to that," Garrett said. "Anybody who is on our football team, I believe has pride enough and desire enough to play well next year, and they have to get themselves prepared if there’s a different kind of off-season than they’re used to."
