Execs for the San Diego Chargers have discussed the possibility of adding free-agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, since the Oakland Raiders cut ties with him, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The paper notes that getting Asomugha is a longshot, but serious enough to mention, adding that there is a belief that Asomugha, who has made some $38 million over the past three seasons, will put winning ahead of another bank-breaking contract.
In his eight seasons in Oakland, Asomugha had 271 individual tackles and 11 interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.
