Even Joe Flacco is buying the Ravens hype.
"I'm pretty excited, and I want to say it's the best team I've been on," Flacco told Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun on Saturday.
We like the Ravens' offseason plenty, but it's too early to say this group is any better than their last two playoff teams. Flacco, however, puts stock in non-padded OTA practices.
"We've got the talent to go as far as we want to," Flacco said. "It's about playing up to our capabilities. I think we've done that for the most part."
Flacco put in extra work during his time off the last few weeks by throwing to Anquan Boldin a few times and flying out to Arizona to toss the ball with Todd Heap. That's encouraging.
Ultimately, Flacco controls whether his words prove prophetic. Adding Boldin was nice, but Flacco's development ranks as the most important factor towards to determining whether the Ravens can make it back to the Super Bowl for the first time in a decade.
