Eagles were yelling “Papa John’s!” at Peyton Manning

When the folks at Papa John’s decided to spend a ton of money on the NFL, they likely didn’t realize that the endorsement actually would make its way onto the field.
But that’s what happened on Sunday in Denver, according to Eagles linebacker Connor Barwin.  He told WIP radio in Philly that he heard someone shout the name of the pizza company that presumably pays Peyton a pile of money during the game with the Broncos.
“Well I know — I think I might have heard Papa John’s once, but I don’t know who said it, I mean that’s kind of funny,” Barwin said.
Barwin explained it’s common for defensive players to yell in response to the yelling from the quarterback regarding the identity of the “mike” (i.e., the middle linebacker) and other things quarterbacks say.
Far funnier than the yelling of “Papa’s Johns” was the final score, a 52-20 drubbing that had Eagles coach Chip Kelly finally relating to the coaches of all those college teams Oregon blew out.
