Hakeem Nicks questionable for Giants opener

The Giants have released their injury report for Wednesday night’s opener against the Cowboys and wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has been slapped with the questionable tag.

Nicks played in the team’s preseason finale after recovering from a broken bone in his foot and, despite the designation, all indications are that he will be on the field to help the team kick off their title defense. That means the new Cowboys cornerback tandem of Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne will have plenty of work in front of them in their first regular season game with a star on each side of their helmets. Another offensive stater, running back Ahmad Bradshaw, is listed as probable with a bruised hand.

Tackle Will Beatty and linebacker Michael Boley, each of whom returned to practice in the last week after long absences, were also listed as questionable, as was linebacker Mathias Kiwanuka. Boley and Kiwanuka should see plenty of action, but Beatty is currently behind Sean Locklear and David Diehl at tackle.

The Giants ruled out cornerback Prince Amukamara, defensive tackle Marvin Austin and tackle James Brewer. Cornerback Jayron Hosley, defensive end Adrian Tracy and running back Da’Rel Scott are all listed as questionable.
