Tebow’s Easter popularity makes New York’s cardinal jealous

Tim Tebow’s arrival in New York means that Cardinal Timothy Dolan can no longer think of himself as the city’s most influential Christian leader.

At Dolan’s Easter sermon on Sunday, he noted that far more people would turn out to hear Tebow preach.

“We got over 3,000 people at St. Patrick’s Cathedral this morning, you think one Timothy Dolan would be happy,” Dolan said during his Easter sermon. “But I’m jealous because one Timothy Tebow has 25,000.”

Dolan’s estimate of the crowd Tebow drew to his “Easter on the Hill” event was 10,000 more than what the Associated Press estimated, but regardless, Tebow may have been the preacher more Americans turned to than any other this Easter Sunday.
