Rams Interested In Todd Bowles

The St. Louis Rams interested in interviewing Miami Dolphins interim head coach Todd Bowles as part of their search for a long-term replacement for Steve Spagnuolo, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

An assistant head coach/secondary coach with the Dolphins, the 48-year-old Bowles became the interim head coach last month after the firing of Tony Sparano. The Dolphins were 2-1 under Bowles, including a 19-17 win in Week 17 that eliminated AFC East rival New York Jets from playoff contention.

Bowles was formally interviewed for the Dolphins' head coaching position earlier this week.

Former Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher is believed to be the favorite to the land the Rams' coaching job. Interviewing Bowles, who is African-American, would bring the Rams into compliance with the Rooney Rule, which requires them to interview a minority candidate for a head coaching vacancy.
