The musical quarterbacks continued again this week in Houston as the Texans have signed veteran Jeff Garcia, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, who made the announcement while appearing on a Nashville radio station Tuesday afternoon.
Garcia had worked out for the Texans in each of the past two weeks after injuries to Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart, but Houston first decided on Kellen Clemens as a third QB, then went with veteran Jake Delhomme last week after Leinart was put on injured reserve.
Now, the Texans are making another move, waiving Clemens and adding another veteran backup in Garcia, who last played last year for the Omaha franchise in the UFL.
It appears the plan in Houston is to surround rookie T.J.Yates with as many teachers as he can handle in the classroom by having two veterans like Delhomme and Garcia on hand.
