Cowboys QB Tony Romo Expects To Play Next Sunday Night

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo injured his right hand in the first quarter of Saturday's game with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Romo's passing hand connected with the crown of Eagles defensive end Jason Babin's helmet. An x-ray on the hand was negative and while Romo wanted to return, No. 2 quarterback Stephen McGee played the remainder of the game.

The Cowboys travel to the New York Giants next Sunday night for a game that will determine the NFC East. Romo expects to be ready.

"I feel like the playoffs have already started," Romo said according to the Dallas Morning News. "I feel good about the hand and being able to play next week. We'll have to see how the swelling goes, but I expect it to go down as the week progresses, and I'm looking forward to New York."

Romo completed 21-of-31 pass attempts for 321 yards and four touchdowns in the previous meeting with the Giants on December 11.
