Texans QB Matt Schuab Out For Season (Update)

Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub will miss some time after sustaining a significant foot injury in the second quarter of the team's 37-9 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, head coach Gary Kubiak announced on Monday.

UPDATE: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Schaub has a Lisfranc fracture and will miss the remainder of the season.

Schaub was injured while attempting a quarterback sneak, but played the rest of the game, completing 11-of-15 pass attempts for 242 yards and two touchdowns as the Texans racked up 185 rushing yards in the blowout of the Buccaneers.

The Texans are off in Week 11, but Matt Leinart will start against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 12. Leinart has not started an NFL game since November 29, 20009, when the then-Arizona Cardinals quarterback completed 21-of-31 attempts for 220 yards in a 20-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Leinart spent 2010 as the No. 3 quarterback behind Schaub and Dan Orlovsky. Leinart saw his first game action as a Texan when he took the final kneel-down in Sunday's win.

Houston enters the bye at 7-3 and have a 1.5-game lead over the Titans in the AFC South standings.
