Raiders Sign WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Free agent wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh has signed with the Oakland Raiders, the team announced on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old receiver worked out for the team on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old wide receiver was coached by Raiders head coach Hue Jackson and played with Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer for several seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, who selected Houshmandzadeh in the seventh round of the 2001 NFL Draft.

Houshmandzadeh caught 507 passes for 5,782 yards and 37 touchdowns during his eight seasons with the Bengals, earning Pro Bowl honors following the 2007 season. Houshmandzadeh spent 2009 with the Seattle Seahawks and 2010 with the Baltimore Ravens, catching 109 passes for 1,309 yards and six touchdowns over that 32-game stretch.

Since the lockout ended, Houshmandzadeh has worked out for several teams, including the New England Patriots, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers.
