TRG: Week 4 Recap

So close to a great week, yet so far. Buffalo and Atlanta both blew 4th quarter leads and failed to cover. Atlanta has to be concerned about giving up 28 points to Seattle, as that was the Seahawks highest offensive output of the season thus far. I'll take the 3/6 as an encouraging sign, given that it still seems like luck didn't do me any favors. Here's the week 4 recap:

LOSSES

Atlanta -4 over Seattle: The Falcons got out-scored 21-6 in the second half and that killed the spread. The D gets a couple of good players back this week, including DT Jornathan Babineaux. They'd better hope the defense gets better, otherwise they won't have a chance at even winning the division.

NE/OAK over 54: This was painfully close finishing at 50. The Raiders had a couple of devastating turnovers in the redzone, which is never good for a high over. Ended up one score short.

Buffalo -3 over Cincinnati: Well, there's the trap game. Up 20-7, the Bills couldn't close the deal. Going up against Philly this week, I'm not so sure they won't be on a two-game losing streak soon.

WINS

Detroit/Dallas over 46.5: Unbelievable meltdown/comeback. The Lions looked done down 27-3 in the third quarter, but the over looked good. Just like last week, the Lions rallied for the win and the over was well covered. The offense continues to put up points, and it'll be tempting to take any Lions/over picks in the 40s in the coming weeks.

New Orleans -7 over Jacksonville: The game wasn't as close as the scored would seem to indicate. The Jags never looked like they had a chance to win this one... Mistakes by the Saints kept them in it. The Saints defense played well, and it was a good win/cover despite the mistakes.

Baltimore -3 over NY Jets: I missed this game, but it sure sounds ugly. The Jets aren't going to win many with Sanchez forced to throw the ball that often. His 11/35, 119 yards, 1 INT stat-line from this game is pretty disgusting. The Jets are in big trouble this season. Hard not to like the Pats this week.
