Tony Romo played with a punctured lung
A lot of people have been waiting for Tony Romo to step forward and take his career to the next level with the Dallas Cowboys.
Maybe one day we’ll look back at his performance in Sunday’s 27-24 overtime victory at San Francisco and say it was a launching point. Turns out Romo completed the game with a fractured rib and a punctured lung.
The Cowboys put Romo through a battery of tests today, including a CT scan that gave them more information.
“I would not think there's any reason to think that he won't play Monday (against Washington),'' coach Jason Garrett said Monday at his press conference, according to the Dallas Morning News. "We're certainly hopeful.''
Here is what the Cowboys sent out on the matter:
“Additional testing on the fractured rib of Tony Romo today revealed that he also has evidence of a pneumothorax—a condition that is not unusual for an injury such as the one Romo sustained in the game in San Francisco. Varying degrees of a pneumothorax can heal in differing time frames. The Cowboys medical team will continue to monitor the situation and conduct additional tests as the week progresses.”
