Titans' Munchak gets chance to put stamp on team

As expected, the Titans tabbed OL coach Mike Munchak, whose tenure with the club dates back to their time as the Houston Oilers, to replace head coach Jeff Fisher. The question now is what changes Munchak, a Hall of Fame guard who also gained acclaim for his work with the Titans' O-line over the past 14 seasons, will want to implement. As Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt noted upon the hiring of Munchak, "This is a positive situation for us because he has a strong foundation built with us, but he has his own beliefs about how he wants his team to play." Munchak will need to hire a defensive coordinator to replace the departed Chuck Cecil, who was let go after two seasons on the job. Offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger, one of three other candidates to interview for the Titans' head-coaching vacancy, told The (Nashville) Tennessean that he would like to stay with the club.
