Infection delays James Harrison’s surgery

Steelers linebacker James Harrison was scheduled to have minor back surgery on Monday.  Len Pasquarelli of the Sports Xchange reports that the procedure was delayed due to an infection deemed to be “not serious.”
Via Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Pasquarelli reports that Harrison’s agent described the infection as a fever or virus and nothing about which to be alarmed.
Harrison missed no games in 2011 due to injury, and he never appeared on the injury report as having a back injury.  It’s unknown when the injury occurred, and whether it was an acute or chronic condition.
