Cam Newton’s media workout happens today

Today is the day on which former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton will work out not for scouts or coaches or anyone else who may draft him in April, but for the media.
We’re told that the 45-minute session will happen at 1:00 p.m. ET at Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego.  Per the media invitation circulated in connection with this event, the workout is intended to “provide a snapshot of Cam’s daily training regimen and routine as he prepares for his NFL career.”
Newton then will be “briefly available” to answer “some questions” from the media.
Newton appeared last week on NFL Network, and he confirmed that Favre showed up when Newton was in the process of selecting his representation.  It remains to be seen whether Favre simply was used to help close the deal for agent Bus Cook, or whether Favre will take Newton under the 20-year veteran’s wing.
Based on Newton’s comment to NFLN, he’s clearly “hoping” that Favre’s involvement will be more than just a cameo aimed at getting Cam to sign on the dotted line with Brett’s long-time agent.
