Raiders tab Al Saunders as offensive coordinator

Raiders Al Davis continues to make the coaching hires that everyone expects.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Davis hired Ravens assistant Al Saunders as offensive coordinator in Oakland.

Saunders spent the last two years in Baltimore, and is well known for his run in Kansas City from 2001-2005 as offensive coordinator. He also was the head coach of the Chargers from 1986-1988, so he’s almost completed a tour of the AFC West.

Saunders’ hire was largely expected around the league after Davis tabbed Hue Jackson, who worked with Saunders in Baltimore. Davis has also previously interviewed Saunders for spots on previous staffs.
Unlike Chuck Pagano, Saunders is happy to get sentenced to time in Oakland.
