Raiders expected to hire Hue Jackson as head coach

The Oakland Raiders are expected to elevate Hue Jackson from offensive coordinator to head coach as the replacement for Tom Cable, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.
The Raiders declined to extend Cable's contract, making the announcement tonight.
That sets the stage for Jackson to get the job, but nothing is official yet. Barring an unforeseen problem in the interview process, the Raiders are expected to name Jackson as their new head coach.
Granted permission to talk with the San Francisco 49ers' head coaching vacancy, Jackson is considered  extremely likely to remain with the Raiders.
Jackson was the Baltimore Ravens' quarterbacks coach prior to being hired by the Raiders during the Senior Bowl last year.
The Raiders went 8-8 this year despite using several different quarterbacks, including Bruce Gradkowski and Jason Campbell.
