Giants thrilled that Fewell is returning

The Giants were happy that defensive coordinator Perry Fewell was receiving what they believed to be well-deserved head-coaching interviews, but they are far more happy that he'll be back coaching the defense in 2011. Although some criticized Fewell's stop unit down the stretch when the Giants allowed 38 and 45 points, respectively, to the Eagles and Packers, it was clear that offensive turnovers also played a big role in the two losses. There's a lot to like about this defense's potential next season and it's easy to forget how far the group, which had much of the same personnel in 2009, had fallen before Fewell arrived. He was aggressive with his calls and got the most out of every level of the defense, except perhaps linebacker, which will be a position the team will look to upgrade this offseason.
