Kerry Collins to miss at least two weeks; Vince Young will start at quarterback against Redskins

With Kerry Collins out at least two weeks with a calf injury, the Tennessee Titans will start Vince Young at quarterback on Sunday against the Washington Redskins, according to a report by ESPN.com. Collins injured his calf during Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins and was replaced by Young—who was listed as the No. 2 quarterback on the roster due to his ankle injury.
Young has been dealing with an ankle injury suffered against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6. He returned to action against the San Diego Chargers, but ended up being replaced by Collins after re-injuring the ankle. The extra bye week was supposed to help Young’s ankle recover, but head coach Jeff Fisher was only comfortable with using Young if absolutely necessary. Now, he has no choice but to make Young the starter this week—whether his ankle is 100 percent ready or not.
