These numbers are not meant to reflect a team's performance on an absolute scale versus the entire league----rather they have meaning only Relative to their opponent. Keep in mind that the spread created by the difference in the relative scores between two opponents is more important than the magnitude of the total result.
(For ex., Baltimore earned a 1769 compared to Philadelphia's 1756. However, Philadelphia defeated St Louis by a spread of 2602 points)
