Jay Cutler cleared to return from concussion, will start vs. Vikings
Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is back.
Cutler, who suffered a concussion two weeks ago in the Bears’ loss to the Texans and missed Monday’s loss to the 49ers, has been cleared to return and will start on Sunday against the Vikings, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS.
The Bears listed Cutler as questionable on this week’s injury report and said his availability would come down to the diagnosis of an independent neurologist who would examine him on Saturday. Apparently that independent neurologist found Cutler to be symptom-free and good to go.
Over the last two seasons, the Bears have been one of the best teams in the NFC when Cutler is healthy and one of the worst teams in the NFC when Cutler can’t go. Having Cutler back against an NFC North rival will be a big plus for the Bears as they compete for a playoff spot.
