Happster's Fantasy Report: Week 2

As the season progresses players will go up and down, but I’m going to try and talk about four that I think are sort of where they are going to stay. I have two that are hot, and two that are not.

No guarantees that the championship I give you won't be revoked five years later, just saying
Hot: Reggie Bush and Trent Richardson. These guys are absolutely lighting it up this season and I, for one, think that they are going to continue to produce solid RB1 numbers for the rest of the season. This is especially good news for those lucky few who managed to pickup Reggie later in the draft and had him sitting behind Forte or Fred Jackson. Ride easy, my friends, for the future is bright!

Reggie has finally found his home in Miami. The pressure to produce has lessened and the Dolphins have found the perfect scheme to utilize the talents of the former Heisman trophy winner. Shame on all of us, as Reggie was the 19th running back selected in standard Yahoo! drafts.

I will beat you and then bench press your corpse!
Rookie running backs are not normally amazing fantasy quantities, and I do not think that Richardson is elite (yet), but he is going to be a workhorse on a team that has no other offensive weapons. Richardson currently has a 38-3 advantages in carries over the #2 RB on the Browns roster, a Mr….(I have to dig down for this one)…Travis Benjamin. Obviously a necessary handcuff…

Not: Andre Johnson and Michael Turner. I’m just going to say this once, so listen up: Andre Johnson is not now, and will never be, an elite fantasy receiver moving forward. His best days were behind him and I would never consider him more than a WR3 option in this league. On a day when the Texans put up 411 yards of offense, Andre was responsible for only 21 of them. I understand that it was mostly about the running game, but that’s just it. The Texans are one of the best teams in the NFL this year and they are going to use the double-headed behemoth of Foster and Tate to destroy defenses. Andre is now one of the secondary offenses on the Texans.
Honestly, it's just a matter of time before this happens, again.

Michael Turner has the opposite problem. His team is all about defense and the pass offense. Sure, he might give you some garbage-time production (which to be honest, is anything but garbage in the fantasy game), but I do not think that it’s going to be enough to make him a very good fantasy asset. Turner is currently averaging 2.6 yards a carry and only has 74 yards on the season. He may not be as terrible as Darren McFadden[1] but he is not doing well. If you know a Falcons fan somewhere, see if you can’t get something good for him. Seriously, see if you can't trade him for Steven Ridley. Just saying...
