Ravens LB Ray Lewis Unsure 2011 Season Will Start on Time

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis isn't sure if the 2011 regular season will start on time, Jamison Hensley of The Baltimore Sun reports.

"I don't know. I'm more on the inside of it of talking to (NFLPA Executive Director) DeMaurice Smith and talking to all those guys," Lewis said before getting cryptic with his message. "But a lot of it, I'm totally away from them because I look at it totally different, and I'll share that at another time."

While teammate Joe Flacco has been organizing workouts and throwing sessions for a prolonged workout, the 12-time Pro Bowl linebacker sounds as though he's looking forward to a few extra months away from football.

"I would hope and pray all the guys I talk to--the thing I try to tell them is please do something else," Lewis said. "You have to have many things going on. To me, this is probably the greatest window of opportunity I've ever had in my life. It's been 25 years of my life that I've never had a summer to myself."
