Yesterday, we passed along a report in which a Cowboys front office member said wide receiver Dez Bryant could be available in a trade. We surmised that the Cowboys would quickly issue a denial.
And so it has come to pass.
Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones told Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that the report is “totally wrong.” Hill points out that the only front office members that matter have the last name of “Jones.”
Fair enough, although the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. We trust that Bryant isn’t going anywhere, but everyone is available at the right price. More to the point, the front office member that spoke out was likely hinting at some frustrations with Bryant bubbling under the surface.
The Cowboys will find a way work out those problems, because they aren’t in the position to be trading away talent like Bryant.
