In a move that could signal the end of the career for a longtime NFL stalwart, the Washington Redskins have announced that they waived receiver Joey Galloway today.
In his first season with the Redskins, Galloway had just 12 catches for 173 yards in 10 games this year. But he has had a very productive NFL career, with 701 catches for 10,950 yards and 77 touchdowns.
The 39-year-old Galloway had a long and honorable career and was a productive receiver into his mid-30s, but he appears to have reached the end.
With the roster spot freed up by cutting Galloway, the Redskins signed wide receiver Terrence Austin off their practice squad.
