Cribbs will be a game-time decision
Last week, Browns receiver Josh Cribbs dislocated two or three or four toes on one play. Despite early indications that he’d be fine, Cribbs could miss Sunday’s game at Jacksonville.
Per the Associated Press, coach Eric Mangini said that Cribbs’ availability will be determined on Sunday. Given that the Browns play in Jacksonville, there’s a chance that Cribbs won’t even make the trip, which would mean that the decision has been made.
The possibility of Cribbs missing the game became tangible earlier in the week, when the Browns signed kick/punt returner Clifton Smith, a 2008 Pro Bowler with the Bucs who was available via free agency — and wisely not under contract with the UFL.
Eight other Browns are questionable for Sunday, including defensive lineman Shaun Rogers (ankle), cornerback Sheldon Brown (shoulder), and linebacker Matt Roth (illness).
