Don't forget, all Smith did last season was explode for 107 catches, 1,220 yards and seven TDs. Now, however, he's playing second fiddle to Nicks, who's well on his way to eclipsing those lofty numbers in 2010.
In Sunday's big win at Houston, Nicks showed how he could dominate a game, catching 12 passes for 130 yards and two TDs. And it could have been an even bigger day had he not dropped a couple passes that could have resulted in scores. With back-to-back 100-yard outings and six TDs already, Nicks is on pace to catch more than 105 balls for roughly 1,309 yards and 19 TDs.
With the way Nicks is using his size, speed, hands and body control to absolutely dominate defenses, QB Eli Manning isn't afraid to throw his way in any situation, and it appears Manning trusts him to make big plays more than the QB trusts Smith to do the same at this point. While Smith still will contribute decent numbers like he did Sunday (6-89-1), his numbers aren't likely to come close to Nicks' at season's end.
With Big Blue facing the Lions' soft secondary this week, enjoy another enormous day from Nicks, who's on his way to being a No. 1 fantasy receiver.
