Browns RB Montario Hardesty out for the year

Cleveland Browns rookie running back Montario Hardesty has a torn ACL and likely will miss the entire 2010 season, ESPN reports.

Hardesty injured his left knee in the second quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Chicago Bears. He’ll undergo surgery to repair the ligament and will be in recovery for about nine months, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

"I hurt my knee making a cut. I really don't know what it is. I can't say it's not frustrating," Hardesty said following the game.

The Browns traded three draft picks to move up and select Hardesty in the second round. Hardesty suffered a torn right ACL as a freshman at Tennessee in 2005.

Hardesty’s injury means more carries for Jerome Harrison, with Peyton Hillis and James Davis rounding out the tailback spot.
