Though it's not (yet) a case of ESPN-on-ESPN crime, John Clayton's report/suggestion/speculation/whatever that free-agent running back Brian Westbrook will sign with the Rams is getting roughed up by outside forces.
First came Jason La Canfora's report that no decision has been made by the former Eagle.
Now comes an on-the-record comment from Rams V.P. of football operations Kevin Demoff, who says that he hasn't spoken to Westbrook's agent "for several days."
It's only a matter of time, then, before Adam Schefter and/or Mort put Clayton's report/suggestion/speculation/whatever out of its misery.
