The Patriots have enjoyed a relatively worry-free training camp with the exception of absent All Pro guard Logan Mankins. Until now.
ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss reports that Patriots offensive lineman Nick Kaczur has a back injury that he's told teammates could sideline him indefinitely and "potentially threaten his 2010 season." Kaczur, usually a right tackle, was Bill Belichick's first choice to replace Mankins at left guard. Third-stringer Dan Connolly is up next.
No progress has been reported on the Mankins front in a long time. If an agreement can't be reached, the Patriots will rely on vaunted offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia to fix the problem, like he has many times before.
