DAL WR Bryant Out 4-6 Weeks Per Jerry Jones

Hi Folks,

Tough news for Cowboys fans and Dez Bryant today. He injured his ankle in practice
and ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones say Bryant
will miss 4-6 weeks.

Clipped from the ESPN article by Tim McMahon: Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver
Dez Bryant suffered a right high ankle sprain near the end of Friday's practice,
and the team said he will be out 4-6 weeks.

That means Bryant could miss the entire preseason.

The injury occurred after cornerback Orlando Scandrick broke up a pass intended
for Bryant on the second-to-last play of practice. Backup quarterback Jon Kitna
threw the ball slightly behind Bryant on a crossing route, and Scandrick made a
good play on the ball and landed on Bryant's leg.

It would appear that Bryant will be missing crucial time for a rookie WR. He'll be
able to have his "head" in practice mentally taking reps and such but not being able
to physically be on the field in August is a big blow. I've had high hopes for the
guy but this is clearly a setback. Let's see how this develops and what kind of real
further medical diagnosis we see here. But right now, this looks like
a significant setback for Bryant's development. At least in the short term window.
